New Orleans…

Standard

Wow…what a state filled with so much culture and music.

From Pensacola we drove through a couple of states… and we decided to stay in new Orleans because (girls trip and food) but the rich culture over rides it all. So grateful we get to do this and do it as a family.

We walked for hours and hours around the famous french quarters. With music and people all around the streets especially bourbon street was jumping with music. But around night time it got too much for our kids so we left.

We got to eat at cafe du munde…I think that I was a bit disappointed. Its “fried ballfrot” like we will say in Ghana. Fried dough with powdered sugar. And seem like its owned by Asian people which is weird too. Lol…anyways we did take a picture and tried the friend dough…

We also got to see some street performers and the palm readers… and we got to tour the voodoo mesuem which was interesting on it’s own. Will share pictires.

We also got to eat gambo at the famous Melba. I hope I got the name right…lol…

We had some crawfish and some gambo and some bbq chicken

It was really just ok. Overall food in new Orleans is ok for me and my family…

Now the highlight of our trip is our drive to the whitney Plantation…now that is something new as we have visited mesuems and we have also tour places telling the story from the masters perspective…with this plantation was telling stories from the slaves eyes and we got to see where they sleep and work. Wow…

This place is been open only for 3yrs now and it’s truly an amazing experience if you are in new Orleans to do. Its suppose to be the only one that tells the slaves stories. Am so grateful for this particular experience.

We are leaving tomorrow…going to Memphis

Tennessee… so we say thanking you to new Orleans for hosting us .

RV exploration Continues…

Pensacola Beach

Standard

What a lovely place to call home for 1 week. So beautiful right on the beach is the Pensacola RV beach resort.

And the boardwalk and the people and the relaxing feel of this beach on the peninsula is sure to make you want to stay more than the 7 days we booked for.

With our RV tour we are visit to colleges for our 2 older kids…and so far we are on it.

In Pensacola we got to visit their homeschool DVD program abeka which has a school in Pensacola. We met their teachers who our kids have watched on their homeschool DVD program for many grades.

The teachers are so lovely and we got to sit in the classrooms where the videos are made with students. Such an amazing experience to see all unfolds. Our girls got to ask their teachers some personal questions. They met their favorite math teacher Mr. Howe.

Really truly a great experience.

We also got to create memories with marcus friend Robert’s parents who are super cool and have a beautiful beach house that was right by our RV resort.

We had some tasty friend fish and lots of laughs and memories at their home. Thank you for hosting us.

We also got to enjoy some soul food at the famous Dwarf chicken…and just typing this makes me want to run there now and eat some tasty homemade from the soul with love collard greens and fried chicken. Our friend grandmother started the chicken stand but now managed by her niece who is super cool.

Am telling you if you are in Pensacola just find the dwarf chicken and stop by for some soul food.

Here are a few pictures of our Pensacola experience.

Time to exit Clearwater Bay

Standard

Wow…when we are having fun the time just keeps flying away from us.

It has been a week since we arrived in Clearwater bay.

We stayed at the Clearwater RV resort. Very quiet and mostly older crew. But we got to meet some amazing LLF’S(life long friends) who have kids that our kids can play with.

Also the RV resort is really close to everything we need and about 10min drive to the beach. And walking distance to the bay for fishing.

Our next RV neighbor was so sweet she invited us to come and help groom and ride her rodeo horse. Her horse name is called Dream… and she really was a dream come true as we got to help groom her and also got to be cowgirls for a day.

We also made another friends and we got to go have some fun at the weeki wechee state park. If you are staying in Clearwater this is surely a must enjoy for the day. We got to see “real mermaids” 😉.. and saw some few wildlife shows..and spent the rest of the time there on their huge slides that drops you in the springs.

Remember to go early as the park closes at 5pm. It was $13 for adults and $8 for kids.

We really loved the calmness of Clearwater bay area.

In the evening we got to see the sunset at the beach where they have sunset beach celebration every night. And movies on fridays and Saturdays in the evening.

Marcus and I got to get in a date night with our new LLF’s while the kids got to stay in and watch a movie.

Truly when we are having so much fun creating memories with new friends it always seem hard to say see you soon…but as we are the Manns clan and we stay on the move..we always have to say “see you all soon in another state”

Here are some of our memories in Clearwater.

Oh and I got to taste an alligator….all I can say is “that’s about it” I don’t plan on tasting this anymore…lol…

Now we are setting off tomorrow morning at 7am going to Gainesville to tour the Florida state university.

Our amazing experiences in the Keys….

Standard

We have had such an amazing experience in the keys. Making new life long friends and creating memories that we will cherish forever.

We had only scheduled to stay in the keys for two night but we ended staying for 6 nights. And I must say the change of our decision was because of our new LLF’s (Life Long Friends)

We got to learn how to fish….from our friends and we caught our fish for dinner.

We also got to taste conch and it was tasty just like fried squid.

Our friend took us on his boat to Marvin island so beautiful.

Here are a few of our memories

Our Hollywood florida explorations

Standard

We stayed in Hollywood Florida area for 5 days.

My first opinion… beautiful palm trees all around the roads. But the traffic and the road network is very hectic for me. I missed my turns so any times.

Staying on Hollywood area we are only 23min from miami and 20min from fort Lauderdale.

We spent our Saturday afternoon at the swap shop more like a huge overly confusing flea market.

And the same place has one the largest drive in movies in the world. It’s a 14 screen drive in movie spots. So huge its ridiculous.

But we enjoyed it all. We got to watch rampage. You pay $7 for adults and children age 4 to 11yrs pay $2.

Remember with this gate fees you drive your car to the screen you want and watch the movie you want and after you can drive to the other screen to watch another movie. Pretty awesome experience.

And we noticed that there are so many private boats all around the water area. Pretty cool.

RVing exploration Continues…

Kennedy space Center and vero beach

Standard

We decided after 2hours of some homeschool work we will go on and explore the world of astronauts.

We drove 1hour to the kennedy space center.

Such an incredible experience. Its definitely worth it all. Really grateful to be able to explore the United states like this.

Vero Beach Exploration continues…

I am 39yrs….wow…feels amazing

Standard

Yeap…almost at the life begins at 40 mark…. I turned 39yrs yesterday. I definitely don’t feel that older.

My kids made me tasty breakfast in bed while playing my favorite song by Major.

After our life long friend (LLF) organized a tour at the airport tower on vero regional airport.

After that we spend the evening with her family and had dinner at Mulligan seafood restaurant and it was yummy.

So grateful for a day like this set aside to celebrate our first arrival here.

And with so many messages I say thank you so much

Quality time with The Adzei Family in Florida

Standard

We have sure has amazing moments with the Adzei family. In each country they have made it a point to come and spend time with us as least once a year. First it was Rio Brazil…then Rome Italy and now orlando Florida USA. This is becoming our beautiful tradition and our sons look forward to that experience each year.

We have created amazing memories in orlando Florida and for our 2nd time camping in our RV I must say we have fully enjoyed the challenges and adventures that comes along RV camping.

We have learned so much just from accepting the challenges.

Wow…what an awesome start of our 2018 north America tour.

When we have to say goodbye

Standard

Saying goodbye to our 4th daughter is always never easy. For 10yrs I have had to say goodbye to her after spending many months with her but that moment always brings me to a very deep emotional tears and ends up crying like a baby.

So our 4th daughter karama gets spoilt and says with marcus parents…her mema and papa…

We have to let her stay with her mema and papa because of her health challenges and she needs to be closer to her doctors.

We drove with her to florida to explore disney with her. After about 10days it’s time to say goodbye so they can go on back to Virginia.

I was an emotional wreck and always go through that for a couple of hours. How I wish she could go on this adventure with us and be with her mom and dad and siblings. Now karama is absolutely loved and cared for and probably super spoilt by her mema and papa and all her care givers. But she is loved and missed so much by her mother.

I try to detach so that I can still live in the moment with her and enjoy the many moments I had with her. But it’s never an easy transaction .

It will take a couple of days when I get into something else with the other kids to keep me occupied.

Thank you so much for all the unconditional love you all give to karama because of that I am able to heal and know she is loved and spoilt.

See you soon karama and know that mommy will always love you and here for you.

Here are a few of our moments
