My Return Home After 2yrs

Standard

OK so I am sure most people have left their country for better life and stayed for over 2yrs. so the question is why is my so different?

Well I did not travel out of my country to find a better life…I had a better life in my country. 2yrs ago my husband decided we must show our kids the world of possibilities. when we first got married 15yrs ago he made me a promise that he will retire at the age of 40yrs and hence thats his reason for working so hard and sitting in long meetings just to make sure his promise will be kept.

So 2yrs ago around April after a month of turning 40yrs…while joking with him said “hey hun. you are 40yrs” when will you be retiring. And Lord did I spark that in his heart. which it was already there I just happened to wake it up.

after about 4 months later we are selling all our accumulated junk that we did not really need and could live comfortably without. And on December 1st we where on our first flight to South Africa….And if you have read most of my blogs you will see the journey is still on..

So I was on the road with the kids consistently for 2yrs…I did not visit my home Ghana. remember I was not travelling to find better life in another country which I think till now most of my family and friends think thats what the travel is for. But its not and like I said I had better life here and did not need to change it.

So after 2yrs of travelling and missing my family and my best friend. I did not complain…many times I only express my feeling of missing home.

Then in Oct. 2016 Marcus offered that I return home for 3 weeks to visit my family and also to represent him as our company has been awarded the most outstanding chiropractic office in west Africa. Which I was so proud of Team Chiropractic..with their great and amazing leader of the operations Team Phillip and also the awesome General Manager Gideon has taken the business to the next level and I was grateful to be present at this moment.

Arriving in Ghana…It was really home for me as I started to hear my language and be able to fit right in…after 2yrs nothing have changed for me just the perception of missing love ones.

So I say I am truly grateful to travel the world and see the world..but I am profoundly grateful that I always feel at home when I return home…

I am about the share all my journey with my return home on this blog to show how much fun life can be when you are home…

could not have asked for the best of the best of friends. Linda my best friend picked me up from the airport and we had so much to share and laugh about .

kenkey and fish is my all time meal. Kenkey is made out of fermented corn and they use the corn husk to fold and then boil it. this is served mainly with grinned hot pepper and then some fried fish. some people eat the kenkey with tomato stew…either way you choose to eat this dish you will find pleasure in the consumption…

so I don't really consume rest mean purely because I feel like it takes too long for it to digest. But in cases like this I had to by pass those thoughts and enjoy my culture...this is Fufu which in my opinion takes too long to prepare and little time to enjoy.

A beautiful day in medellin while mommy is away

Standard

So mommy is away for 3 weeks and so now daddy is the new mommy in town.

What I love about our family is that Marcus and I do very different things with our kids when we are with them. I love to cook and window shop and try on cloths we not gonna buy…but I have lots of girls so it’s a perfect fit for our days together.

But Marcus is more of an adventurous spirit and my kids have that side too so they do stuff that I necessarily will not be doing with them. and this really balances our lifestyle and our family to a T.

So while mommy is away daddy got this down packed.

Here are a few moments in medellin colombia

Father and son moment…

Long legs equals taller than mommy

I am amazed that I am the mother of this beautiful kids

Our little character

Look at my son’s face..

My 15yr old getting this selfie thing down

My two heartbeats…

Check out the heights…

They love the pose

They are best friends…that’s the way to go…sisters for life

The city of medellin will never be the same again with the Manns family being there and daddy piloting the whole crew while mommy takes a 3 weeks trip to Ghana.

Mecado del rio…my kind of night

Standard

This place is amazing for all characters…food lovers, freinds, couples, kids and families. this place can entretain all.

After our all day Sunday fun at the Parque de Norte we decided to take the party to another location.

The mercado del rio is an old warehouse that is designed and set up inside with loads of differnt food stalls and some great music. lots of chairs and couaches for relaxing while enjoying that tasty dishes around there.

The place is opened every single day of the week and from 10am till 11pm. some of the restaurants there open at 8am so if you want to give it a try.

The atmosphere there is up beat and fun for sure and there is a wings place there that will make you lick your fingers.

Now any taxi or uber knows the place so grab and cab and go on and have some great time.

So walking distance from that place is another food and gift flea market style place it’s call ciudad del rio. it’s an outside place with white tents and also a grassy place for bringing your blankets and relaxing.

This place opens on Saturday and Sunday but when monday is a holiday then the place is open on monday from 10am till 9pm. and right across the street from this place is also food trucks…it’s such a lovely area for a datenight and just walking and listening to music.

We really had Ana amazing time at this place. hope if you do visit medellin you will make it a point to visit this fun filled spot.

Me and my oldest enjoying the evening with some funny face selfie

It’s that wings spot. ..the best

I was excited for some wings

The crowd

And that’s the spot for some tasty ribs with 4 differnt sauces…tender and juicy

Really had some of my best night at his place …

Making new LLF’S in Medellin

Standard

With all my blogs you can tell our highest priority with our world tour…it is to make LLF’S all oround the globe (Life Long Friends ) and I really feel like without those moments this travels will not be as exciting as we are having now.

Today in medellin we decided to spend out sunday with the Ross family…the queen of the Ross family is super cool and she and I had so much fun just following the kids do their “thang”.

We went to the amusement park called Parque de Norte. it’s a nice place I think for kids around the ages of 6yrs to about 13yrs…now 14yrs and up can still enjoy but I have a feeling if they don’t have great friends with them there they will get board quick.

We spent about 6hours there riding and enjoying the beautiful environment which it’s the christmas season so they have decorated the park with beautiful decors.

The fee for entry is $12 for the higest fee which means you can ride everything over and over again.

They have cheaper prices like $8 and $6 for you to get on some rides and for only 1 round. they also have a food court for lunch and what most kids enjoy sweets.

Now let’s talk about some of the rides….the hunted jungle was so sad….not worth out time for sure. but it’s ok…. not scary and definitely good for younger kids too.

Oh and remember there are some rides that can get you super wet so be prepared for a little wet day.

here are a few moments that we probably will not forget with our friends.

Our parque pose….

We got this pose down packed now…

We take this parque poses pretty serious …but super fun..

Kids having some fun…

They did well with this one…

Those are so beautiful…a season to be excited

Destiny doing her selfie thing….

The grand entrance

The queen of the Manns clan…

Some beautiful views

Some of the suppose scary moment. ..

So I think this is a great way to keep the kids occupied for a whole day. the park opens from 10:30am till 6pm.
