Today as a family we started learning Spanish in preparation for our upcoming Latin America trip…and oh we are told in phillippines they also speak Spanish. So we have less than 2 months to be able to make a conversation.

So today I decided to go to the grocery store open minded….

I pretty much bought all the fruits I have never seen before nor do I know the name…LOL!!

I know that’s tangerine there, but the rest wish I knew…

So for dinner I decided to make some Asian inspired meal…

Well,  crab was one of them and my family seem to enjoy every bit of that steamed crab tossed in butter sauce.

Then I made some stir friend shrimp and  squid papaya salad stir fry. Now that was  tasty.
And oh in Bangkok they have the real deal with the sweet corn. It was so sweet all I had to do was boil it…

For our appetiser I made a mushroom soup with 6 different types of mushrooms and grilled some Russian bread…yummy.

Now you know we are the Manns so we do have some sweet tooth…LOL! !

For dessert I made a thai roti roll filled with wheatgrass melt…and topped it with honey and whip cream…now that was the star of our evening.

And my oldest Destiny set the table with a napkin invention… and it says vagabond….

Great evening filled with laughter and food cooked with love…

Bangkok exploration continues

So while walking around town in Bangkok we saw this performance…this Asian kids are rolling with hip pop dance off… and it’s free just sit and watch and laugh…

We all look shock to see the dance off…

This was in front of a mall we just came across…LOL!!!

He is all about Batman….

He thinks he will grow up to be iron man….

And he loves fast bike riding too…yeap he is a boy and his definetly a Manns boy….

Today kids and got out of our area sukhumvit and went all the way to Mo Chit….took the BTS.

It was a nice ride…even on a Sunday the BTS was packed with people. I guess all of us going to the weekend market.

We got there and got some lunch and rented a mat for THB 20 to to sit and just relax and feel the breeze and watching people walk by and kids playing around.

Woke up at 6am. Got the kids up and went to the gym in our apartment for some fitness time.

So today was very intresting since we had no idea that our kids have been researching and planning a day trip for the whole family.

We woke up around 12 noon( our bodies is still getting adjusted to the Asian time). Our kids asked us to get dress and be ready by 1:45pm. So we did.

We had not clue where we are going. They researched the train to take the location of this suprise place and we just tagged along.

We got on the train and they kept asking for directions with some Thai people that they hardly understand.

So we live on Sukumvit 59 and they took us to Sukumvit 26. When we got off the train we walked about 10min just following our kids. It felt like all this travelling is really paying off they can survive anywhere in the world.

So we got to the place and it was a place for them to play all day called Fun arium.  But adults are welcome too. You really sit around and watch your kids explore and meet new kids. And they had a neck and foot massage for the parents. So you know I had to treat myself. Baht 300 for

After being there for 4 hours we saw a village food market and we spent some time there just tasting new foods.
One fruit we love was the mangosteen. We had to buy a kilo to take home it was tasty.

Today is our last day in Nairobi and the kids decided to do a star jump to comormirate the nairobi stay.

It seem to for the kids but I was super scared so did not try.

Today was a little emotional as the kids said goodbye to their super nanny Janet who is returning back to Ghana.

Janet came to stay with us from Ghana while in Nairobi. (We could do that easily because she did not require any visa and air ticket was cheap at that time).

And of course the kids miss her a lot and I needed some helping hands with the kids,new country and homeschooling and taking care of the house.

Am so gratful she was able to come and assist me and also love on the girls.

Today she left at 7am heading back to Ghana as we leave in  the evening heading to Bangkok. We will surely miss Janet. Kids had teary eyes.

Janet has been with us and helping take care of the kids since 2006 (that’s about 9yrs ) and she has now become a part of our family. We will all miss her. But she is going back to Ghana so she can go back to school which we are assisting her to get her education and she is excited about that.

Great helpers are definitely hard to come by so Janet is surly a keeper for us. She still takes care of our house in Ghana. 

We are truly blessed to have her in our lives.

Most people keep asking how I am able to stay and look calm travelling around the world with 4 young kids and a husband( he is a kid too, so that’s 5kids) my answer is always the same…plan ahead, days before your trip.

As am sitting here with my 4 young kids at planet yoghurt just chilling and enjoying every minute of Nairobi before we leave for the airport in 4 hours. 

Am all calm and packed and now just letting the time pass before we depart to Bangkok.

And we all checked in online so no  stress gurantee…

Super excited and grateful for a great 3 months exploration for our family here in Nairobi.

I hope Asia is ready for the Manns clan because we rock it in every country.
