Niagara Falls Canada and Caribana carnival

Standard

So as I could not travel to the Canada side to see the falls. Marcus took the older girls and went to explore the Canada side of the falls and it happened that same weekend was the famous caribana carnival in Toronto so they did that too.

I was not able to go to Canada because I am in the process of getting my green card and was not able to travel outside of the United states. I have Virginia drivers license but going into Canada I needed my passport too. So well I made the most of my day by meeting up with our life long friends we met in Brazil 2yrs ago.

It was really nice seeing Amy and Howard. Such amazing people and so welcoming. They met marcus and the girls at the Canada side that morning and still made time to cross the boarder and meet up with me and MJ for some hugs. It was such a pleasure seeing them again. All the way from meeting in Brazil and we get to meet at the boarder of usa and Canada.

Anyways canada side or usa side of the falls…it was truly an amazing sight to see. Am so grateful we get to see all these awesomeness of God.

Here are a few pictures of our day

Walmart parking lot campground

Standard

Lol…yeap…just laughing with our adventures becoming interesting every day. We got to spend our first night at a walmart parking lot in Albany new York. Actually it was really cool.

Woke up the next morning and walked to the grocery store.

We also camped at the Walmart in Ithaca

I think walmart should put a little hookup for campers on their back lot. But only make it over night parking and you have to leave and go to another Walmart if you choose too.

We finally concluded our 7 of the 8 ivy league schools…what an adventure and loaded up with so much information…

Cornell is such a beautiful campus but it’s so huge and lots of hills up and down.

I think cornell is now on our top 3 reach school

Great school

Ithaca college tour

Standard

A college town for sure with a beautiful small campus. Today we got to tour Ithaca college which shares the town with cornell university.

We absolutely loved the feel of Ithaca college. The grounds was beautiful and not has huge as some of the other colleges.

We also got to learn Ithaca college as about 6200 undergraduate and 600 graduate.

Also we got to find out that they are one of the colleges that does not have to have a test score like SAT OR ACT and their reason is because they feel like one day of a test taking should not define you and if you get into college or not.

So Ithaca college is not now on a large list.

Syracuse University tour

Standard

Today we drove to Syracuse university to take their undergraduate tour. Beautiful city with a very beautiful campus.

Its about 3 hours away from new York city and about 2 hours from the capital of the state of New York Albany.

They one of the top universities to embrace US vets.

One of the things we found was that they lost 35 of their students who went abroad on a terriost plane crash in 1988. It’s really sad but they create a memorial area for them with all the students names on there and each year the school dedicate 1 week to remember them.

Great school and a possible school for our girls.

We drove to Cape Elizabeth to see the portland head lighthouse.

We also go to see live salvation army concert in orchard beach.

And we tried a lobster roll…it was expensive for what we got… it was $18 for this tiny roll.

MIT CAMPUS TOUR

Standard

We made it to one of the worlds best technological school.

MIT was surely in the middle of the city with so much traffic.

So we drove our 33ft RV to this place so you can imagine the stress.

We found a permanently closed shop and was able to park our RV and detach it from the truck so we can take the truck to a repair shop for them to add on a suspension to help with towing out RV. It all worked out well.

But I must say it was super hot and humid.

So we dropped the girls off to take the MIT campus tour while we get the truck fixed.

Our girls was not too much into MIT. But they enjoyed the tour information given.

Wompatuck state park and Nantusket beach

Standard

So on this trip we decided to stay at a state park.

With our large family state parks are great for price and trails but they don’t seem to have sewage waste or full hookup which is not really great for us.

So we booked this state park and it had electricity hookup and water so that was awesome.

It was $23 a night and $6 a night for electricity.

But the park had so many trails and vast forest feel.

Also we spent the day in Nantucket beach…lovely beach filled with people.. but the water was super cold.

Over all great first experience for a state park

Also got to take a run with mj and Dior on he trails. And we got to pick some berries while on the way.
