Aasha (My view on the day trip to Elephant and Giraffe Center)

Standard

The elephant orphanage was amazing we got to get up close and watch the Rangers feed the baby elephants milk from baby bottles while they told us how they became orphaned most of them fell down a well while they where still barely able to walk and others had their mothers killed by poachers.one of the elephant came out of the rope and started running around like crazy.

Everyone was so scared but it settled down after a bit of time. I found out that you can also adopt an elephant not necessarily take it home just pay $50 for a year to help fund that animals health and well-being. They also gave the animals their own Β names based on how or where they were orphaned.

The giraffe center was probably my favorite. They gave us little pellets ( but not a lot because the giraffesΒ were on a diet) then you would stand on a platform and the giraffes would walk right up, you hold your hand out and their long purple sticky tongue should grab it. It was kinda disgusting my mom was so scared she was shaking. But overall they where so gentle and pretty and their eyes where huge and shiny. Can you believe that our own dad put a pellet between his teeth and the giraffes took it,? is called the giraffe kiss ewww πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜›πŸ˜‹πŸƒπŸ‚πŸƒπŸŒ³πŸŒ²πŸŒΏ!!. There where also hogs at the feet of the giraffe πŸ—πŸ—πŸ— Β dung beetles rolling poop around yuck 🐜🐜🐜🌰.

I had so much fun today and I think that everyone who visits Kenya should definitelyΒ go to the elephant orphanage and the giraffe center. Type later everyone πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸΌ
