OK so I am sure most people have left their country for better life and stayed for over 2yrs. so the question is why is my so different?
Well I did not travel out of my country to find a better life…I had a better life in my country. 2yrs ago my husband decided we must show our kids the world of possibilities. when we first got married 15yrs ago he made me a promise that he will retire at the age of 40yrs and hence thats his reason for working so hard and sitting in long meetings just to make sure his promise will be kept.
So 2yrs ago around April after a month of turning 40yrs…while joking with him said “hey hun. you are 40yrs” when will you be retiring. And Lord did I spark that in his heart. which it was already there I just happened to wake it up.
after about 4 months later we are selling all our accumulated junk that we did not really need and could live comfortably without. And on December 1st we where on our first flight to South Africa….And if you have read most of my blogs you will see the journey is still on..
So I was on the road with the kids consistently for 2yrs…I did not visit my home Ghana. remember I was not travelling to find better life in another country which I think till now most of my family and friends think thats what the travel is for. But its not and like I said I had better life here and did not need to change it.
So after 2yrs of travelling and missing my family and my best friend. I did not complain…many times I only express my feeling of missing home.
Then in Oct. 2016 Marcus offered that I return home for 3 weeks to visit my family and also to represent him as our company has been awarded the most outstanding chiropractic office in west Africa. Which I was so proud of Team Chiropractic..with their great and amazing leader of the operations Team Phillip and also the awesome General Manager Gideon has taken the business to the next level and I was grateful to be present at this moment.
Arriving in Ghana…It was really home for me as I started to hear my language and be able to fit right in…after 2yrs nothing have changed for me just the perception of missing love ones.
So I say I am truly grateful to travel the world and see the world..but I am profoundly grateful that I always feel at home when I return home…
I am about the share all my journey with my return home on this blog to show how much fun life can be when you are home…

could not have asked for the best of the best of friends. Linda my best friend picked me up from the airport and we had so much to share and laugh about .

let the Ghanaian dishes be devoured with bliss. having some boiled Yam with dry fish stew..
kenkey and fish is my all time meal. Kenkey is made out of fermented corn and they use the corn husk to fold and then boil it. this is served mainly with grinned hot pepper and then some fried fish. some people eat the kenkey with tomato stew…either way you choose to eat this dish you will find pleasure in the consumption…

so I don’t really consume rest mean purely because I feel like it takes too long for it to digest. But in cases like this I had to by pass those thoughts and enjoy my culture…this is Fufu which in my opinion takes too long to prepare and little time to enjoy.
