I must say it has really been a total shock for me arriving here in Mumbai. I would say 2 weeks before we arrived I started receiving social media post and comments about how Indians don’t like forigners and especially black people and we need to be careful… I must say i did read all the comments and watched all the YouTube channels filled with so many negative actions on there and documentaries about Indian not liking people from other countries. But like most news it really got to be negative for the media to want to publish it…. Well I must say my experience here is 100 % opposite what is on the social media and the news… Am telling you my experience in Brazil which suppose to be migrations from Africa there was worse than any country I have been too… I had bad experience as just being abke to ask someone for direction or for help. And in Mumbai….its absolutely different the people are super nice from our apartment host (Gagal home service apartment), To our amazing caretaker and chef, to our uber drivers , to our tuktuk drivers, the security officers at our apartment, the guy who drops off free milk and news paper every single morning, to the team at Yog power studio, the staff at the ENRICH salon in Growels mall…I mean I could really just keep going on and on and on… This people are awesome and so welcoming and just want to help…genuinely wants to help…our Zumba teacher and his wife…I mean it feels right to be here. They welcome you with love and smiles. Now don’t get me wrong am sure they are a few people who have had a differnt experience with the people here…. but like human being The good stuff we do washes off like Teflon and the one time not so great stuff sticks like Velcro.. that’s just how we are weired. Even in Brazil….I made awesome friend even with my so call bad experience…I had amazing memories there that will always remind me of this beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro. So my advice arrive and explore…allow yourself to be challenged and enjoy the journey as much as you will be enjoying the destination. Well I wanted to share this before I share our amazing day celebrating our 16yr old daughters birthday Mumbai style. Hope this helps you decide whether your next summer vacation will be Mumbai Mumbai Exploration Continues
