With homeschooling comes awesome benefits as this weekend we decided to take a long weekend trip to Washington DC to say farewell to Marcus Uncle who had passed away.
We packed up the kids and set off on a 6 hours road trip from Bassett Virginia to Washington DC.
While there we decided to make it extra special by meeting and visiting most of our families that live around the area. It was such a lovely weekend just seeing all the kids meet their cousins and aunties and uncles and sharing our travel explorations with them all.
After our family meet ups we decided to return back to bassett on sunday….then it clicked that we are homeschooling our kids so a little history classes on the road can be more exciting so we stated in DC one more night and visited the Whitehouse and also the monuments in the DC area. It was really worth missing the school book works.
Our arrival started when we visited Marcus grand aunt (grandmother’s oldest sister) she is 101yrs old and she is such a delight to be around. The wisdom she has to share with us….at that age she still rock.
Family all set and ready to go and pay their last respect to marcus Uncle.
