Kooza night in BA

Standard

Some of the perks in travelling is being able to catch shows that you may not not get to see in your country of origin like mine Ghana…

Yesterday as we are doing our intense spanish lesson our spanish teacher who is amazing mentioned to us that she 6 tickets to see the show Kooza cirque du soleil. ..

So we decided hey why not do that since it’s a holiday in  BA anyways.

So in the evening we made our way to the location and it was a jaw dropping show for sure…watching my 6yr old look so amazed by what the people are doing on stage.

Here are a few pictures

A Sneak Peak of The City

Standard

So every country has its perks and in the City of Buenos Aires the perks are in the form of the beautiful acient buildings that each tells a beautiful story from the past.

Also in each country we appreciate what that country offers and one of them is the free walking tour. Across the globe there is a company or I should a group of dedicated people who are willing to show you their country and after the tour yoy basically put a value on the tour and tip them.

Now Buenos Aries is pretty cold this time of the year so taking a free walking tour can be a little challenging especially when you just coming from Brazil in the hot times.  But we made it and it was worth the walk with just a few of us turning blue…lol!!!

Here are a few pictures of the city of Buenos Aires….

The Ups and Down of Countries

Standard

So if you have read my blog you will see that Brazil was tough for me especially since we had the language issues and also my experience with the post office team. Well that went all away when I made great friends that made all seem like it was worth the wait to make amazing friends.

Well in Argentina it’s very differnt since there is no wait and not much I can do…lol!!!

The dog shit on the side walks are outrageous stinky….my goodness…every step you take there is a potential of you stepping in a fresh dog shit…lol! And it smells awful. Their law of picking up after your dog poop is not enforced or practiced like Rio.

So if you do decide to visit Argentina just be mindful where you step because  if you step in any of this poops you will be cleaning for months just to get the smell off you. It’s so bad my 13yr old decided to write in her business letter for school, she wrote to the road and transportation department  here to talk about ways to enforce the law of picking up after your dog on the street.

Now that we are done talking about dog poop…let’s talk about people…the Argentines are really nice people and willing to help lost people like me and my family. So I say thanks for that….

Now let me tell you about the other people that am not sure if they are Argentines  (they actually are ) the taxi drivers…oh they are like silent killers…slowly draining every pesos out of you before you exit their taxi.
I took a taxi one time going from a mall that is about 10min from my house…..and with the meter on, the taxi took me around circles for at least 1hour…I saw the same buildings at least 3 times and a bill that would have cost me $4 ended up costing me $19 after he dropped me home. Oh I was furious and asked him why are we going circles and of course at this point he acted like he did not even understand any english…lol!!
It’s so bad that they will go that extreme just to make money that they don’t deserve.

So now I am all about Uber which is what I take anyways until I can’t get uber. But uber just started 3 months ago here so the taxis don’t like them and are messing up uber drivers car if you come to pick up someone around a place filled with taxi drivers. But am really all for uber.

Anyways I guess over all the dog poop is the only one I can’t seem to avoid….lol!!!!

But we do love Argentina and the Argentines

Argentina Exploration Continues…..

A beautiful City

Standard

Buenos Aries is such a beautiful city filled with so many restaurants and the people here are super nice and helpful….but Lord the taxi drivers are crooks….lol!!! They will take you all around the city of Buenos Aires just to bring you back to a place that is just 5min drive from your location.
Thank God for uber. I and my kids feel a little less duped.

But the people here are so helpful and excited to know that we are from Ghana. Technically the Argentines are also Americans so being from America does not offer any perks but being from Ghana west africa seem to make them smile and ask how Ghana is. If it hot or cold.

So we have been here for exactly 7days. It’s cold but it’s so beautiful with all the leaves fallen.

We have yet to do the things that Argentina has to offer for tourist. So soon we will do that.

In each city we look up for the famous free walking tour and we join in to learn about the cultures in each country. So in Buenos Aires we plan to do that next week.

Here are a few pictures of the most visit city in south America buenos Aries.

Our First Impression Buenos Aries

Standard

So our first impression for Buenos Aries is that people are super nice and so welcoming. And some of them are funny actually.

Now we are staying in an area called Palermo Hollywood. And it’s really a lovely place to live but men do I get lost every time I walk out of my apartment….lol!!!

The buildings and streets all look the same. And the street names are not as visible for us to see just  like Ghana we can use kiosk and buildings to identify our way home.

Overall I really am enjoying Buenos Aries and I think the whole Manns clan is loving it too.

But hey if you plan on coming this way around May, June and July then be prepared to bring some jacked because it’s super cold down here.

Today the whole family went walking and here are a few pictures we took from a bridge.

Argentina Exploration Begins

Our Arrival in Buenos Aires

Standard

So it’s May 7th 2016 and the Manns clan as arrived safely into Buenos Aries. Our first impression was…”ok it’s a bit cold but we can work with it”

All our tank tops from HOT Rio de Janeiro is tucked back in our suitcases and our jeans and socks and sneakers are out. Thanks to our friends in Rio who gave us winter coats we are well on our way to staying warm.

We have a beautiful apartment with awesome host as they take us around the night we arrive to show us all the cool places around our apartment.

And as we always get a warm welcome in most countries in Buenos Aires 1 min away from our apartment was this huge international food event and they had about 50,000 people at the event with famous chefs and just food sampling. It was really a nice treat for us the next day as we walked through the event.

Hiking Dois Irmãos Mountain

Standard

What an experience especially to do this with our kids…Super fun but hmm very tiring. At least for me since after we got up the mountain my 6yr old son asked “mommy when are we going to hike the mountain since this one is just a walk”…. as am trying to catch my little breath I have left.

Well am happy we made it since it was really rewarding getting to see the view.

If  you are visiting rio and enjoys nature and wants to do the ..Dois Irmaos hike.. then its open to enjoy everyday around 10:30 am that’s because if you go earlier the road leading up there is closed.

Address – Avenida Niemeyer 210 ..the Entrance to Vidigal …

behind the entrance there is a public van and you will take that to  …Campo de futebol …the public van/tro tro cost 2.50 real per person..

after you get to the football field entrance you cross to the other side of the field and there is another entrance/gate that starts the hike…

just follow the trail after about 10-15 minutes you will get to the first view point..after a bit longer you get to the second view point
…after another 15 minutes of walking you will come to a junction where you will go left and to the top of dois irmaos…

after you spend as much time as you want up there you  will just hike down.. cross the field.. take a van/tro tro to the Vidigal entrance … and all done you have seen all the rio made of at the top of about 1748 feet high. Hope you enjoy it as much as my family did .

Our Farm Experience

Standard

With all our travels we try to enjoy each country and make it memorable.

And one of the ways we make it memorable is by making LLF’S  (Life Long Friends ) yes we make friends and we make sure to create memories with them before we leave their country.

Last weekend we got the opportunity to experience a true farm life.
Our friend Waleska and her family invited us to spend the weekend on their beautiful farm in Maniz-gerize  (I probably got the spelling wrong) but it’s about 6 hours drive south of Brazil.

We spent the whole weekend on the farm and with our super amazing host we really had a great time.
We are truly grateful that we get to have this experience with our friends.

Here are a few pictures of our farm experience

The Law of Attraction with my ViSA

Standard

Staying calm and sending to the universe what I MAVIS desires I got what I want…

Yesterday

Arrived at the Argentina embassy and after checking my documents the embassy said I need to.extned my brazil visa since it expires on monday…. the stress of those words hit me in super shock and she said it takes 14 days before I can get my visa..😥😥😥I was worried and my energy changed to stress

Now I started to call everyone in rio and they all said getting extension is the most dredful event in rip especially because I don’t speak potuguese.

Now am actually in a panic mode.

So I rushed to the airport to try and enquire all I need to know to get my extension done.

Go there and it was packed. But at this point my body energy is changing gradually to where it should be..grateful to be a love state

Met a guy who helped me with smiles and with my smiles too…

Then I got to the counter…got all documents they need but 1 paper which I had at home…oh well my energy was changing again scary thinking after all the wait and help from this guy if I leave now am doomed….but I said I will leave and I will stay calm and tomorrow I will come back. Since they told me I need that paper to get my visa extended.

Got home super tired..
Open my bag and the paper I was looking for wad inside bag so all this while it was in my bag and I could have used it.

This morning 6am woke up with a smile… I am given a new white paper to draw my day

So I started…with smile all over my face. On our way to the immigration place I saw a beautiful rainbow… and I told Aasha the universe is telling me today will be awesome. Aasha looked at and said ok mommy.

Got to immigration and at 8am they open the door. The officer calls me into his office at the back where they process all the visa and said wait here. At 8:20am  he gave me my passport with my desired visa extension….now that is call the law of attraction in the making.

Now she said they usually take 14 days to process any visa

But she asked me to wait and she went to the back
1hour later she called inside to the back meet the consulate…with smiles on my face and my energy just pouring of love and positivity. We sat at the office with the consulate and he was so impressed with our family and what we are doing that he even took time to read our travel blog while I was comfortably sitting in his office.

Well here is the breaker….my visa will be ready tomorrow at 11am…yeap in 24hours I manifested everything that people said it cannot be done….I created and all with my EMOTIONS

Such an awesome awesome people at the Argentina embassy even though I did not speak potuguese or spanish. They welcomed us with love. Really grateful for all the team at the Argentina embassy for their patience and love for people like me who did not have a clue of the process due to language issues.

I am so grateful to you Marcus for showing me this path.

Oh and the lady at the embassy said tomorrow she will tell me all I want to know about Argentina and I am so grateful for her patience with me..I have made a friend with me being able to stay calm.

We all have in us the power to create…now you will get scared and panic it’s ok just know how to shift is the lesson here.

Brazil Exploration Continues

At 10am I arrived at the embassy with a shock from the lady she said you have your extension…wow!!!

Visit to Angra Islands

Standard

Today the kids and I went on an adventure worth sharing….

We woke up at 6am and went to our meeting point to meet up our Rio LLF’S  (Life Long Friends ) and we all got onto the bus….now that’s when the adventures really began….lol!!!

Our bus driver and his assistant drove us around our neighborhood which is ipanema for.a solid 2 hours picking up other clients like us who are also taking the trip.

Me and my friends at this point are pissed and annoyed since they told us nothing and just driving around circles. So basically a trip that would have taken us 2 hours if we had left from our pick up point but seem like our wish for that did not come true and the trip took is 6 hours since we left rip late and with super traffic on the way.

So from 7am we got to our boat at 1pm.
Oh and if you are wondering how we got our tickets…we got it from Etours rio and it’s R $160 for the whole trip including lunch.

Well the boat ride was nice and the islands are all beautiful. But our lunch did not come till 6pm. So my advice make sure you eat a large breakfast and take lunch with you if you decide to take this adventure when visiting rio.

Here are a few pictures of me and the kids and our day.
