So today as usual our super Dentist decides even though it’s a holiday in Brazil she will still.come to work just for us to check IMAHKÜS brace. Now.you understand why I call her super Dentist.

Now the icing on the cake is when we got to the mall where her office is the whole mall was closed completely. With lights our and escalators not working.  Even the mall doors all shut.

So they allowed us in. Like the movie night at the mesuem…well we call this day at the closed mall.

And as usual while we wait for our super dentist to come we sat on the floor while of course my kids decided to entertain me….

Brazil Exploration Continues

Today my kids and I went to spend our day watching the magnificence of human beings.

We went to the Olympics arena to watch the women artistic Gymnastics Olympics qualifying series for Rio 2016.

We had such an amazing time. Here are a few tips

We took uber and from ipanema to the location where most of the events will happen at is about 50min drive without any traffic.  And with uber it cost us only $13…Super cheap right.

If I was to take a normal taxi it would cost me about $40 this is because the drivers already start with a $4 base fare when I put my butt in the car…the ride has not even moved.

Well we could have taken the train…. but with my large family 4kids and me it’s actually cheaper to take the uber than the train. And I did not see any completed train stations around there. I did see buses but they will cost me more than uber also. So I say if you have a large crew about 4 persons just use uber.

Now am pretty sure during the actual events uber will double it’s fare because of scarcity but trust me it will still be cheaper than the taxi drivers since the drivers also slow down and try to catch every red light just to make more money off yoy.  But with uber they follow a route and it’s safe and very nice drivers.

Hope my tip will help anyone coming in August.

So best to stay either around Maracana stadium or Barra de Tijuca. And don’t let me even start talking about apartments during august. This people here are charging your life for a 7days stay….one guy said he wants $5,000 usd for a 2 bedroom apartment that looks disgusting….I laughed so hard. I and my kids will join the crew under the bridge and enjoy nature than to give my $5,000 to some greedy person who thinks he needs to build his life in 1 week. Lol!!!

Well be mindful when renting…these places are shabby and the prices they asking is not making any logical and economical sense.

So we have always known that we will go bankruptcy just with trying to fix our kids teeth. Until we got to Rio de Janeiro and we met this awesome Dentist. So we decide it’s about time to wreck up our bank account…we say investment since our kids are our investment and paying mommy and daddy back should be soon…lol

So let me tell you this…the price compared to usa…Rio is the place to get all dental works done.

And if you do visit rio here is the place I will super recommend for you to get your dental works done.

So as this weekend was my birthday. My friend kirstin stayed with my kids so I can get a weekend away from the kids.

Brazil Exploration Continues…

Yeap….I turned 37yrs today…what a blessing to where my life is now.

I am profoundly grateful for all my blessings. At 37yrs I have been married to an amazing man for 16yrs…we have produced together 5 beautiful children who seem to be growing up so fast and are now my best friends.

As I turned 37yrs Marcus decided to treat me to a weekend away from the kids.

So as usual God is always watching out for my happiness, my friends here in Rio, Emelia and Caeligh (kept kids on Thursday night) and my friend Kirstin who stayed with my kids from Friday night till sunday all so that I can have a birthday gateway.

I say thank you all so much. I am really grateful.

Brazil Exploration Continues. ..

So if you read my past post you will see that my first month in rio was not exciting and I was very upset about being here in rio…well it’s understandable since I did not speak potuguese and the Brazilians did not have any future plans of changing their language to what I am comfortable with which was English.

So I have stayed here for 2 months and it that period i have moved from botafogo apartment to ipanema apartment just me and my kids. So yeap it can be done. Just keep up the faith.

Then I think the icing on the cake is when I started making friends. I went on the app called meet up and I joined the TLC warriors  (which is awesome fitness group on the beach) and for me I think that is what created the excitement to be in rio.

Then I joined rio friends and joined english conversation group….and yeap all is going super well. Am loving rio and there is always something to do with friends here.

Now my kids have very different view on this issue. Since they made friends right when we arrived in our botafogo apartment…and just loved the beach and all the things it has to offer.

So over all I can say you create home wherever you are placed at any particular moment of your life.

Brazil Exploration Continues. …

One of the things I will miss most about Brazil is the beautiful and untouched beaches. It’s a no man’s land…such great beauty and very clean.

Sometimes when I pass by the beach on monday morning at 10am the beach is filled with people everywhere…swimming and exercising and just having a great time. Most questions in my head is..”it’s Monday why are they not at work”? Well I am yet to find someone who can help me with my answer to that question. So will let you know when I do get that answer.

Brazil Exploration Continues..

So a few things we are starting to like about Rio is the fact that you can escape the hustle and bustle and in 15min to 1hour you could visit another island and still enjoy the beauty of Brazil.

Today our family took the ferry and visited Nitorio. Even though we did not get to have a picnic as planned we still got to meet lots of people and tour a mesuem.
