First time Mass in phillippines

Standard

So if you read my past blog about making life long friends then you will be able to know what am about to blog.

We met a friend while walking through the mall.
She invited us to Aliw theatre to join her at what they call the feast.

So the kids and I decided to honor that invite. So we went and we so much enjoyed the session. It’s a Catholic service. But trust me it felt like we are at a gospel concert. The energy and vibe and music was just right.

The 2 hour session went by so fast we asked wlif it was already over. Lol!!!

With our travels we are learning to worship with anyone who invites us regardless of the label they have being Christian,  Hindu,  Muslim  ect. We respect every single path people choose to communicate with our Creator (our Creator of the universe and us all). Respect that what we give.

So we had such an awesome morning. After we went to have lunch together with Jenneth and Len. Fantastic people.

Some pictures of us below…

So today the kids and I ventured out and went to find the sulcedo weekend market. It’s about 10min walk from our condo but ofcouse Google took me the longer route which got me walking in circles. But it’s all worth it.

Great food, play ground and lots of new things to try.

Making Life long friends

Standard

Today as kids and I are walking the malls and looking at some sports wear…

Destiny  our 13yr old was approached by a lovely lady who wanted Destiny’s opinion on a kids sports top she is buying for her 12yr old daughter who she said has the body structure like Destiny.

So Destiny tried on the top so that the lady can buy the correct size.

But what was so funny was that we spent 45min just standing in the middle of the store having a nice chat and sharing both lives.

She has 1 daughter and lots of nieces and nephews that she spends time with. And she wants us to have days out so that our kids will meet her family and they can be friends.

Now this is a life long friend. It was such a pleasure meeting you Jenneth and looking forward to seeing you on Sunday for family fun day.

A picture below of our new friend.

Don’t panic when you loose a kid

Standard

When you have world travelled kids….one of the things we teach our kids, when we arrive in a new country is to memorize our cell phone numbers.

Also when there is a situation panicking can actually create the opposite of the results you want.

Today kids and I went to the mall…and if you are aware of makati area there are about 12 huge malls in this area all connecting with skywalk.

Now at about 7pm we decided to return home….and walking through the mall with all the crowd…I could not find Destiny (my 13yr old girl). Now as a mother my first action was panic. Then I remembered why am I panicking?  We are travelling the world…she has black belt in martial arts…she has done self defence classes..she is doing mauy thai and she knows my cell phone number. All my fears (False Evidence Apearing Real ) vanished.

So 30 min later the other kids and I started walking home and my phone ring….it’s Destiny she is at home. Since she could not find us she decided to go on and walk home and call once she is home because she knew I will not panic and will trust that she will use the lessons we have thought her.

I was so proud of her and told her how I am such a proud mother.

So don’t panic stay clam and your energy that you send to the universe will determine the outcome.

Here is a picture of her

Why we don’t buy individual ice cream

Standard

So when we get the treat…you know like ice cream…

We don’t buy individual choose your own kind of ice cream…we buy tub style.

And one of our favourite ice cream place that has a very tasty ice cream and sells the tub while in phillippines is Caffè Ti-amo.

So for 8 large scoops we pay $6….and each of the kids gets to pick 2 of their favourite flavours.

image

That’s our finished tub

And we all share….a great way to bond with your kids and siblings learning to share…

So here is a picture of us at the greenbelt 3 mall listening to live music while sharing some ice cream

Live music at NU.VO

And we are enjoying the night sharing our ice cream…
